There are currently no consistent thermal performance standards for fixed awnings. Durability of components and quality of manufacture are among the most important performance characteristics for outdoor fabric window coverings. This website lists only manufacturers providing a minimum 5-year product warranty.

Fixed awnings can be installed as DIY but much more common is installation by a qualified trade contractor or manufacturer-certified installer.
